"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."This is literally the coolest video I have ever seen. It contains amazing shots of wing suit base jumping in Norway. My Bestemor (Grandma in Norwegian) actually sent it to me.

I had the opportunity to see Atmosphere live in Sacramento a couple of years ago, they were awesome. They came out with a new album recently [ If Life Gives You Lemons Paint That Shit Gold ] which is unique and a breath of fresh hip-hop.

I am in the middle stages of creating a label with my good friend Nathan Lusher II. Goliath Records is on its way to being one sick label. If We Were Giants, Blake Kincaid, Ellis Rof, Taylor Wade, & The Professional are all on our roster for next year. On top of that we have Chloe Clausen of Bel Esprit as our Director of Photography!

Nikola Tesla, an early electrical engineer, is the creator of alternating current (AC), he envisioned a world where electricity was freely available to anyone. He learned six languages by the age of 18 and was able to fully envision his inventions. With 700 patents to his name he is called "one of the greatest geniuses of the 19th century". Why haven't we ever heard of him?

The Thylacine is a rather unusual animal, it is shaped similar to a dog but has stripes like a tiger (only on the back half) and a pouch like a kangaroo! The last one died in a zoo in 1933.

Kim Peek: The Real Rain Man

11/26/08

This video is about the real rain man, the man Dustin Hoffman based his Rain Man character on. Kim Peek is a savant, he lacks social skills but remembers everything he has ever read. What would normally take a person 3 minutes to read takes him 8-10 seconds because he reads the left page with his left eye and the right page with his right. His brain is truly amazing.

How to not Judge
Category: Life and Living
11/10/08

It’s as if judging people, situations, locations, and life in general is ingrained in our mind. We judge everything subconsciously, almost continuously. This is dangerous because when we constantly judge people it causes us to make assumptions that are almost never true, and even if our assumptions are true, everyone is a product of their environment and on their own path. Unless we are judging whether or not our life is in danger, we should not be judging anything at all. We shouldn’t be setting our own views and perspectives about someone (or something) we’ve never met (or tried). What we should be doing is looking at things as they actually are, getting to know the nature of them, and all the while passing no judgement.

Robbed at the Bank
Category: Business
11/9/08

It happens to millions of Americans at least once a month: overdraft fees. We are getting robbed by our own banking institutions. This is not the way banks are supposed to make money. They are supposed to make their money off of our money in a different way. Here's how it works: the people deposit their savings in the bank. The banks loan out that money to individuals, businesses etc. and then make a profit by charging interest on the loans. Now I know that it is my fault if I 'overdraw' my checking account, but do the banks really need to be charging an arm and a leg if I overdraw $10? They are literally making a killing off of fees. This should not be legal because if it were not for our money, banks wouldn't exist.

One Perspective
Category: Life and Living
11/7/08

Instead of constantly dwelling on what you do not have (for example: money, possesions, time, etc.) force yourself to dwell on the 'things' you do have. The 'things' you have that are taken for granted. Just this morning you took advantage of many things and didn't even think about.

Soft Bed
Running Water
Hot shower

Toothbrush & toothpaste
Electricity
Coffee Maker
Refrigerator
Dishes & Eating Utensils
Toilet
Wardrobe & shoes
Home
Pets

If I we are constantly reminded of how many things we take for granted, just maybe we'll realize how 'wealthy' we really are.
